Joyful Abiding
Learn to abide in Christ in any circumstance

Joyful Abiding

Learning the art of joyfully abiding in Christ no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in is not easy. But it is possible!

Joyful Abiding by Nancy L. Tan
& Dr. C. Michael Wells

Nancy Lynn Tan is an American living with her Malaysian husband in the state of Sabah, Borneo, E. Malaysia, where she does Bible teaching, Christian counseling, and discipleship. She has been affiliated with Abiding Life Ministries International (ALMI) since 2001.

In this book, the ALMI conference material has been put into cell-group form, with discussion questions. Topics include:

  • How to abide and do so on an increasing basis
  • Making use of the everything we have already been given
  • How to view our weaknesses
  • The need to transform our belief system about God, self, and others
  • Learning how to enter into His rest and still reach our highest potential
  • Switching focus from problems to Christ, which eases worry about circumstances
  • Seeing God in everything: the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Joyful Abiding

Reviews

Read what others think about the book!

“Joyful Abiding is excellent! It seems like a lot of the popular Christian books are fluff, but yours is substantial, profitable, a blessing, and an encouragement. And I love your valley girl voice. It’s like a friend, pouring out her heart, as opposed to a beautiful, but somewhat sterile and remote, theological treatise. I am a huge fan.”

Ms. Gayle Ataceri;  Masters in Theology, Westminster Seminary, CA.

“Not just anyone could accomplish what our friend and sister in Christ, Nancy Tan, pulled off in Joyful Abiding. The very basis is Mike Wells’ Abiding Life Ministries International’s material, and yet Nancy relayed it in her own style and added quotes and wisdom from her own experiences, from other Christian writers, and from Scripture. She has written what I consider to be a very reader-friendly, informative, and in-depth presentation of how the deeper walk with Christ works! I believe readers will receive much revelation as they move from topic to topic, learning Truth about the greatness of our Life in Christ and His Love for us. I hope the book will reach many in the Body of Christ and they will join us in gratitude to Nancy for taking on the challenge of writing Joyful Abiding.”

Mrs. Betty Wells; Director, ALMI

“I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Nancy has created such a panoramic insight—and an appealing tapestry—on the beneficial blessings of ‘Abiding in Christ!’ The spectrum of God’s love displayed in this book is so encouraging and consolatory that it will usher the reader into the comforting zone of ‘Abiding in Christ.’ It is a study guide, reference manual, and a must-read for all Christians—especially those still struggling to get what they miss—not knowing what they really miss.”

(‘Joyful Abiding’ is a) powerful, important and inspiring book; life-changing for me. I love (it)!  I even love that I broke my shoulder because it put me in a position to do almost nothing but sit with this material since Christmas.  This plain talk is what I crave. I know believers all over the place who need this. I believe this is the most important book I have ever edited.”

Teresa Crumpton, editor & owner of Author Spark, Inc.

“A must-read for Christians (most Christians) caught in the legalism trap of “musts” and the tyranny of the “if-nots” in their faith-to move from the proverbial duck’s legs under water, to the soaring flight of the eagle: effortless, carried by the wind of the Spirit. For where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
